These Terms govern use of the Samachar Mitra mobile app, this website, and the supporting services. By creating an account, you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
The service is operated by Nimesh Kumar Rathore, Founder and Owner. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the service.
1. The service
Samachar Mitra lets users discover and search local news, save and engage with stories, receive notifications, submit stories for editorial review, apply to become reporters, and access role-specific publishing or administrative tools when authorised.
2. Your account
- Provide accurate registration and profile information.
- Keep your password and device access secure.
- Do not use another person's account or attempt to bypass role controls.
- You are responsible for activity performed through your account.
Administrator access is not available through public registration. Reporter access is a reviewed capability on a normal user account, not a separate account type.
3. Eligibility
You must be legally able to accept these Terms. If you are under the age at which you can consent for yourself where you live, a parent or legal guardian must provide any consent required by law. You must not apply as a reporter or submit identity documents unless you are legally permitted to do so.
4. Community activity
You may like, save, comment on, and share published stories where those features are available. Do not post spam, harassment, hate speech, misinformation, sexual content, violent content, or unlawful material. Do not misuse reporting or blocking tools.
Comments can be removed by their authors or moderated by an authorised administrator. Engagement and sharing counters may be updated to reflect valid activity and removals.
5. Story submissions and editorial review
Authenticated users may submit stories with text, categories, tags, location, images, or video. A submission can be reviewed, edited where authorised, published, rejected with a reason, resubmitted, or removed. Submission does not guarantee publication.
You must have the right to submit the words and media you provide. By submitting content, you keep ownership of it and grant Samachar Mitra a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, review, reproduce, format, display, distribute, and promote it only as needed to review, publish, operate, and improve the service. The licence continues while the content is available through the service and ends when it is removed, except for copies retained for a lawful reason or in time-limited backups.
6. Reporter applications
Applying for reporter status requires additional information and may include an identity-proof document. Applications can be approved or rejected, and approved reporter status can later be revoked by an administrator. Reporter tools and analytics are available only while the required status is active.
7. Public information
Published stories and media are public. Comments show the author's name and optional avatar. Approved reporter profiles may show a name, email address, avatar, and join date. Do not submit information you do not want displayed in those public areas.
8. Acceptable use
You must not:
- Break the law or violate another person's rights.
- Upload malicious files or try to compromise the service.
- Automate abusive requests, evade rate limits, or interfere with other users.
- Impersonate a person, reporter, organisation, or administrator.
- Copy or publish content without the necessary rights.
9. Moderation and access
Samachar Mitra may reject or remove content, resolve moderation reports, revoke reporter status, or restrict access when necessary to enforce these Terms, protect users, maintain service integrity, or comply with law. Where the service supports it, a status or reason may be shown for an editorial or moderation decision.
10. Intellectual property and third-party services
The Samachar Mitra name, branding, application, and original service content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. The service may link to third-party websites or use third-party infrastructure. Those services have their own terms and policies, and Samachar Mitra is not responsible for third-party content or availability.
11. Availability and disclaimers
Features may change as the service develops. Temporary interruption may be required for security, maintenance, provider outages, or operational work. The service and its content are provided on an "as available" basis to the extent permitted by law. News may contain errors or later developments and should not replace professional legal, medical, financial, or safety advice.
12. Responsibility and liability
You are responsible for your submissions and for losses caused by your unlawful use of the service. To the extent permitted by law, Samachar Mitra is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss caused by use of or inability to use the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes a right or liability that applicable law does not allow to be excluded.
13. Request account deletion
You may submit a deletion request from the Delete Account page. Account access will be disabled immediately, its sessions will end, and future sign-in will be prevented. Account deletion does not immediately erase every associated record. Review the Privacy Policy for retention details and how to request removal of specific content or personal information.
14. Changes to these Terms
Material changes will be shown by a new version and last-updated date. Where required, we will ask you to accept the updated Terms before continuing to use account-based features.
15. Governing law and contact
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in India. Courts with jurisdiction under applicable law may hear disputes that cannot be resolved informally. Questions, content complaints, and legal notices can be sent to samacharmitra01@gmail.com for the attention of Nimesh Kumar Rathore.
